Shire Civil & Commercial Mediation
How much does a civil or commercial mediation cost?
The cost of a civil or commercial mediation is determined by the size and complexity of the dispute (expressed in terms of the monetary value of claims and counter-claims) and how long it takes to resolve (generally between a half and full day).
The elements that make up the total cost are the mediator’s fee (which generally includes reasonable travel and preparation time), and any costs for the hire of a venue for the mediation. As far as possible the costs invloved in the mediation are agreed well in advance between the parties and the mediator so there are no surprises.

As an example a dispute involving a claim for £15,000 with no counter-claim taking a half day (4 hours) to resolve in mediation would cost £425 + VAT per party in mediator fees plus any cost of hiring a venue.
